Ceremony
Officiant Ceremony Process
1. To check Lance's wedding schedule,
use the form
Here.
He will get back with you within 24 hours. If not available, he will pass
your information to others who may be able to assist you.
2. Make an appointment with
Lance to
meet by phone or in person to discuss your needs, the details, etc. The
meeting usually lasts 40 minutes.
3. Become familiar with the wedding ceremony options listed at this
website.
4. At the meeting, get to know each other,
review options, and make plans.
5. Complete the Bride and
Groom Info form.
This form and the information it contains is very important. It is
information that will be used to connect for meetings, send certificates,
and ultimately work the schedule to ensure that Lance arrives early and at
the correct location. If any of this information changes, be sure to
resubmit the form.
6. Book Lance using the
Booking Form.
This is the
written agreement stating where Lance will be
at what time and for what fee. Again, if plans like time or place change,
resubmit this form.
7. Pay the $100 deposit
by personal check or money order via postal mail. Be sure to make note of
the day, time, and place of the wedding on the memo section of the check or
money order. You can also pay the deposit in person during the initial
meeting.
8. Create ceremony using the
resources to create a
ceremony online. Open a
Microsoft Word document, or just a plan email, and cut and paste the
ceremony you'd like to use. You can change any part of the ceremony, use
different readings or vows, whatever pleases you. Just do not change the
order of items.
9. Email the ceremony to
Lance. And if the marriage is in Virginia, also send Lance your license.
10. Apply for a wedding license. In Maryland,
Washington DC, and New Jersey, you will need to obtain the license in the
county where the ceremony will be held.
9. Lance arrives about 1 hour
early to wedding site, prepares, and officiates the ceremony.
10. After the ceremony, Lance
files the appropriate paperwork with the courts.
11. The couple waits one week then applies to the court for official
copies to change names, notify social security, change passports, etc.
